Pine Martens taking scraps from bird-table outside Loch View Cottage in Glenborrodale on a night in October 2011.
A burn runs down the side of the property into Loch Sunart which is a few yards from the front doorstep and the garden around the cottage is tamed in the summer with regular grazing by red deer and occasional mowing.
People often ask ‘how close are you to Loch Sunart’ this shot by guest Helen Cattell from the front doorstep during a spring tide gives some idea!
All attempts at cultivating plants so far have been thwarted by hungry red deer. The only thing they do not eat are the alien rhododendrons which are prolific in this area and provide a beautiful display in spring.
